To maximize your financial aid package, file your FAFSA at fafsa.gov and include UE's code (001795) so we will get the results. Indiana residents must file the 2025-2026 FAFSA prior to April 15, 2025 for state grant consideration. Learn more about the FAFSA.
- Students entering UE in spring or summer 2025 should submit the 2024-25 FAFSA.

SOAR stands for Student Orientation and Academic Registration. SOAR is a one-day orientation program required of all incoming students. This program offers students and family members an opportunity to meet faculty and staff, understand policies and support systems, finalize their class schedule, and learn more about campus life. Deposited students can register for the SOAR session of their choice, although sessions are filled on a first come, first served basis. Up to two guests (parents, other family members, spouse) may attend with their student at no additional charge.
Please register for SOAR via the link found in your SOAR invitation email.
Contact the Office of the Center for Student Engagement for questions about SOAR at cse@ndkllx.com or 812-488-2371.
As your SOAR program approaches, deposited students will receive an outreach from our Office of Academic Services inviting them to schedule a private phone, Zoom, or in-person visit with an academic advisor. Academic goals will be discussed and fall classes will be tentatively selected during this appointment. Class schedules will then be finalized during the student’s respective SOAR program. Soon after the semester begins, you will be assigned a faculty advisor from your chosen major who will assist with registration for subsequent semesters.
FRESHMEN: Prior to leaving high school, please instruct your school counselor to send your official final transcript to the UE Office of Admission. Your final transcript should contain the following:
- Graduation date
- Cumulative grade point average
- Final grades from all high school courses
- Final class ranking (if your school ranks)
TRANSFER STUDENTS: At the time of admission to UE, your transcript may have listed “courses in progress.” If so, please request a final official transcript once the semester concludes so that we can award transfer credits. Official transcripts may be sent to admission@ndkllx.com.
If you took college courses that were through a dual enrollment program with your high school, please request a transcript from each college where you have earned credit.
If you have taken courses through Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, please direct the testing agency to send your exam scores to UE for evaluation of UE course credit.
An advisor from our Office of Academic Services will review and determine the awarding of UE credit. Contact UE’s Office of Academic Services with questions at academicservices@ndkllx.com or (812) 488-2600.
State law and University policy require that all new incoming, full-time students submit an updated, physician certified immunization record and physical. The University uses Med+Proctor for our health information verification and compliance process. Information about health and immunization requirements can be viewed on the Health Center website. Questions can be directed to UE's Health Center at 812-488-2033.
Welcome Week is a program designed to help new students transition to life at UE. This program is required for all new freshman students, so pre-registration is not required. However, ALL new students, including transfer students and non-traditional freshmen, who desire this experience are welcome to register for Welcome Week.
The program includes informational sessions, food, volunteer opportunities and entertainment focused on building new relationships with other incoming students and the UE community. Welcome Week participants arrive four days before classes begin for this fun-filled event. Students are guided through this transition period by a group of energetic mentors called Orientation Leaders (OLs). Students will be assigned a small group and an OL when they arrive and check in for Welcome Week.
Contact the Center for Student Engagement with questions about Welcome Week at cse@ndkllx.com or 812-488-2371.
